natural or artificial. Man made lakes or artificial lakes are
constructed for the purpose of hydroelectric power generation and
for irrigation. There are numerous lakes in India man made as well
as natural mainly found in the states of Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Other lakes are scattered throughout the

district of India.
